Yes, Mr. Jobs, I am still alive. There are three things that I discovered to be true about leaving Silicon Valley and going back to CMU:

  1. I lose interest in startupy (still a real word) things
  2. I run out of free time for blog posts
  3. I have less time for browsing the net randomly

With that in mind, I do like keeping a blog, so rather than my usual habit of killing my blog and starting over, I’m going to just go back to updating this one. It’s only been what, 3 months?

Since I’m home for Turkey Day, I am back on my family’s wifi connection for a while. It’s funny that I’ve been home so little over the last year and a half that I forgot something I did before going off to college…I switch my family’s router over to OpenDNS. Seeing as how they didn’t even notice, I’d say that they’re definitely doing they’re primary job: being a DNS. I don’t use any of the special features, and neither do my parents, but I suspect with the proper training I could learn to utilize it for things like fixing my accidental clicks of shift+enter after entering a .com site (corollary: www.com.net could make a lot of money selling subdomain redirects).

Bottom line: it works, it’s neat, it’s worth a try.
